Geography

Our Geography Department encourages interest and a sense of wonder about the world, helping students to make sense of the complex and dynamically changing world around them.

Geography students learn about the world and how their individual landscapes are formed. They study how people interact with their environment and how a diverse range of economies, and societies are interconnected.

Teachers encourage questioning, investigation and critical thinking about issues affecting the world and people’s lives, both now and in the future. They inspire pupils to become global citizens by exploring their own place in the world through their values and their responsibilities to other people, the environment and the sustainability of the planet.

Year 12 and 13 students

The two-year study period includes human and physical topics including coasts, tectonics, water and carbon cycles, changing places, global governance and 21st century challenges. Students also have the opportunity to take part in organised field trips.
