Our character curriculum

We empower our students with the understanding that their character is equally as important to their future happiness and success in life as academic learning and qualifications.

Our vision is to enable students to flourish in all areas of their life by supporting their development into well-rounded, empathetic people who can contribute and shape society and the wider world, whilst respecting and supporting those who live in it through the teaching and modelling of good character.

The promotion of positive attitudes, skills and behaviours such as self-control, confidence, motivation and resilience feature heavily in our curriculum. These essential life skills give our students the ability to work well with others, build relationships, manage emotions, and cope with difficult situations or respond to setbacks when they occur.

We believe that every interaction is an opportunity to develop the good character of our students. Our character curriculum is taught through assemblies, tutor time, our subjects and living and learning the school’s values.
