Humanities

Our Humanities curriculum covers four subject specialisms – History, Geography, Sociology and Psychology. Teaching develops our students’ knowledge and understanding of the world and society, both past and present. It encourages curiosity alongside the opportunity to develop skills to critically analyse a wide range of information.

The development of collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills play a central role in our teaching as we prepare students for life in a rapidly changing society.

Year 7, 8 and 9 students

In Year 7 and Year 8, students study History and Geography and complete projects that form part of the Project Based Learning curriculum. This gives students the opportunity to learn in ways that encourage independent inquiry to address questions and identify solutions that draw on their knowledge and understanding.

Year 10 and 11 students

Our students select the subject specialism that they wish to study for their GCSEs, with options to study History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Sociology. Students build on the skills and content studied in Years 7, 8 and 9.
