Child Development
Year 10 and 11 students
Our students gain the essential knowledge and understanding for child development and learn about reproduction, parental responsibility, antenatal care, birth, postnatal checks and care.
Students also learn about the equipment needs of babies and young children, and the important factors that to be considered when choosing this for children up to the age of five, alongside their nutritional needs, hygiene practices and the evaluation of dietary choices.
The OCR Cambridge National Level 1 / 2 Certificate Child Development course comprises of three units, two of which are assessed units and one as an exam in the summer of Year 11.
