Art

Our teaching staff deliver an exciting and creative curriculum that encourages creativity, independent thinking and problem solving through opportunities for our students to experiment working with various materials.

Year 7, 8 and 9 students

Our students focus on the building blocks and practical knowledge of art studies including sculpture, photography, and textiles.  They build theoretical knowledge of tools, materials and the history of art, craft, and design.

Year 10 and 11 students

Our students are taught GCSE Level Art, Craft and Design where they grow skills to actively engage in art and design and learn about the media and a wide range of technologies. This opens the door to in future learning to specialise in Art or Photography subjects.

Year 12 and 13 students

Our two-year study programme builds upon the skills our students have acquired at GCSE level. It delivers an engaging and innovative learning experience, where Art, Craft and Design practices are integrated with theoretical knowledge.

Following the EDUQAS learning for Art studies, our students learn and understand the foundations of critical, practical, and theoretical skills that enable them to specialise in either Art or Photography.
