Students in Year 9 have taken an important step in developing their confidence and communication skills by challenging themselves to step outside of their comfort zones. Through a series of structured speaking activities with experts from Talk the Talk, our students were given the opportunity to practice presenting in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Talk the Talk is an organisation that provides practical, fast-paced and engaging confident communication workshop that develops students’ oracy skills and spoken confidence.
Public speaking can often feel daunting, but by focusing on clear structure, preparation, and delivery, students were able to strengthen their oracy skills while learning how to manage nerves in front of an audience. Each activity was designed to gradually build confidence, allowing pupils to grow at their own pace while supporting one another along the way.
Demonstrating resilience, effort, and a willingness to improve, the results were fantastic with students successfully delivering a presentation in front of their peers, and it was inspiring to see how much progress was made in such a short time, with many students showing noticeable growth in both confidence and clarity of speech.
Well done Year 9. We are extremely proud of you, your commitment and resilience!
