Following their success in October, our Year 8 Smarter Cities Challenge Team is another step closer to being crowned UK winners, after beating all of the competition in a challenge set by global digitech leaders Netcompany.

Our students prepared and presented their ideas to a panel of expert judges who were wowed by the team’s proposal to positively transform Gateshead to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of its residents and visitors.

Mr Barrett, Headteacher said: “I was so pleased to hear that our team has made it through to the National Final of the Smart Cities enterprise competition. This is an amazing accomplishment.

“The students of Kingsmeadow Community School never cease to amaze me with their talent and dedication. We may be a small secondary school, but we certainly achieve big things thanks to our amazing students. I am incredibly proud of their effort and contribution.”
