Our Year 9, 10 and 12 students attended the North East Space Event with the Newcastle University Rocketry Society last week. The exciting event gave students a fantastic opportunity to explore the world of space science, engineering and technology through a range of engaging hands-on activities and workshops.
Throughout the day, students took part in a variety of taster sessions linked to space-related courses and clubs available at university level. Activities included rocket design, aerospace engineering, drone capture systems and astronomy, allowing students to gain valuable insight into the exciting possibilities within the space industry.
Students also had the chance to learn more about future career pathways from industry professionals representing Openworks and Airbus. These sessions highlighted the wide range of opportunities available within the aerospace and engineering sectors and inspired many students to consider careers in STEM-related fields.
The event was both educational and inspiring, and our students represented the school brilliantly throughout the day. A great day was had by all!
