Congratulations to the class of 2019. Students have worked hard and achieved some excellent outcomes. There were some commendable individual performances with Lorraine Papong, Jasmine Wilson and Shay Dawson averaging an 8 in all their qualifications. An excellent achievement.
49% of students have achieved a standard pass in both English and Maths, with English once again performing well. Engineering and Business stand out in terms of achievement with students in Engineering achieving on average a grade above expected outcomes.
This year has also seen a good set of outcome at Post 16 A Level and Level 3 BTEC courses, with a 100% pass rate, 81% of students achieved A*-C, 51% A*- B and all students that were seeking to do so, securing their first choice university place.
Students’ hard work throughout their time in the Sixth Form has paid off with the majority now looking forward to progressing onto higher education or the world or work.
Positive results across the board allowed all students to access their first choice university, with some stand out individual successes.
Kieron Peacock attained A,A,A and will be studying History & Politics at northumbria University.
Hannah Hood attained B,B,B and will study History & Archaeology at Newcastle University.
Jade vickers attained A A B (and got through extremely competitive interview process) and will study Midwifery at Northumbria university.
