Sixth form Music students attended a fantastic concert last week at The Sage, Gateshead in which the Royal Northern Sinfonia along with west end singers performed pieces celebrating 50 years of the music of Elton John.

For all of the students it was the first time they had seen an orchestra playing live and they really enjoyed it, saying they would definitely go to something like that again!

The orchestral arrangements had been written by the conductor so not only was it a great opportunity for the students to see and hear live music of this standard but also to understand more about the workings of the music industry and the job roles within it.
