INFORMATION FOR VISITORS

Disabled Visitors

Disabled Parking – The school has six disabled bays which are located at the front of the school site. Access to the Reception area is directly opposite the disabled bays and reception is clearly marked.

Toilets – There are four accessible toilets in the school located on the ground floor of the Main Building and two on the upper floor.

Access to the site – All areas of the site are easily accessible. There is a lift to the upper floor and in the event of a fire, when lift access would be suspended, school can be exited via Dunston Hill Primary School which adjoins Kingsmeadow. If you have a physical disability please contact us before you come to school so that, if necessary, we can produce a Personal Evacuation Plan for you. If you are attending a meeting in school we will be able to organise a first floor meeting room for you.

Information for visitors and parents – If you require information in a specific colour or larger font size, please let us know. Where possible, we are very happy to provide information specific to individual requirements.

Fire Evacuation – If you have any special needs please inform reception upon arrival so that we can ensure that appropriate assistance is in place for the duration of your visit. Upon arrival in reception you will be given a leaflet entitled “Advice for Visitors” which contains useful information. The muster point for a fire evacuation is on the area to the left of the Sports Hall.

We are constantly seeking to improve the information we give you. If you feel we have missed anything, please let us know.

Parking Restrictions

Where you see yellow zig zags on the road and the words “School Keep Clear” like this:

You must NOT stop on those lines at all during the times shown. Apart from operational emergency services vehicles, there are no exceptions to this, even to drop someone off or pick them up. Penalty Charge Notices may be issued instantly by the Council’s Civil Enforcement Officers to vehicles stopping on these zig-zag lines.

In order to safeguard staff and students, the school gates will be closed between the following times:

  • 8.40am – 9.10am

  • 3.00pm – 3.30pm

This is to reduce the amount of traffic coming onto the school site at peak times and reduce any potentially dangerous situations.
