Blast Off! Rocket Challenge
The Y9 candidates for YA Science took part in the Water Rocket Challenge sponsored by TDR.
The regional heats took place on the 15th March and one of our teams won through to the Grand Regional Final on Friday 18th March.
The Rocket Challenge involved the students building and launching a water rocket from scratch, (all materials were provided) as well as the launching system. Their rocket launched an egg (not hard boiled!) as high as possible and returned it safely to Earth. This challenge involved the students in team work and making good use of their Science and Engineering skills.
Our team achieved a fantastic third place.
