Rowing into the record books
At the recent Gateshead Rowing Competition, Kingsmeadow students achieved considerable success. Nine secondary schools entered the event.
Amy McCarthy won the year 8 individual competition, achieving not only her personal best score but also a place on the National League Tables for Rowing. Katie Slavin also achieved a personal best which won her second place. The year 8 girls won first place in the team event (Katie Slavin, Amy McCarty, Leoni Gardner and Carlie Curry).
Nicole Smith won the year 9 individual competition achieving her personal best score and the year 9 team won first place. (Nicole Scott, Elizabeth Ingham, Amy Cowell and Hannah Armstrong).
The year 10 teams both achieved third place:
Girls - Nicole Lane, Carly Dixon, Gemma Morris and Rianne Watts.
Boys – David Armstrong, Jack Greenwell, Jack Brown and Robert Graham.
