History Trip 2009

The recent GCSE history trip to London was once again a fabulous learning opportunity enjoyed by all. We took 32 pupils away to the bright lights of the big city, to learn all about Victorian crime and punishment including the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper. During the visit we stopped at the London Dungeon to uncover the gory truth behind some of history’s most horrific events. Then we were taken back in time to Victorian London to experience the Jack the Ripper guided tour, which both excited and intrigued the pupils. A trip to London would not be complete without a visit to some of London’s legendary museums, so the next day we paid a visit to the Clink, London’s oldest surviving prison, where we were treated to an exhibition of numerous torture devices. A big thank you to all the pupils involved who were fantastic representatives for Kingsmeadow throughout the trip. Look out for further information regarding future trips.
