School Aims

Kingsmeadow is a caring community that has high expectations of students and staff.  We are committed to child-centred learning and will provide a stimulating environment in which our students can grow in the sure understanding that support will be given as they develop to achieve their full potential.

Learning is a lifelong, continuous process.   It enables individuals, communities and societies to grow and develop.  Education should be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience in its own right and society has the right to expect a high quality of education for all children and young people.   Kingsmeadow aims to provide a planned and well-executed learning experience for all of its students by providing a broad, balanced, differentiated, relevant curriculum.

The school aims to help students:

  • develop lively, enquiring minds, the ability to question and argue rationally and apply themselves to tasks and physical skills
  • acquire understanding, knowledge and skills relevant to adult life and employment in a fast changing world
  • develop literacy and numeracy skills
  • develop personal moral values, respect for religious values and tolerance of other races, religions and ways of life
  • understand the world in which they live and the interdependence of individuals, groups and nations
  • appreciate human achievements and aspirations
  • develop their academic, creative and physical potential to the full
  • work hard and achieve.

We provide a safe, caring and happy environment where students grow in self-confidence and learn to accept responsibility for their actions.  We expect parents to support us in achieving these aims and encourage the active involvement of parents and the community in all aspects of school life.

At Kingsmeadow we are concerned with students’ relationships with the world both as children and as adults and with their whole development.   The school must play a part in fulfilling these needs and must offer to all students’ equal opportunities for education.
