Headteacher Greetings
I am proud to introduce myself as Headteacher of Kingsmeadow Community School.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, caring, disciplined and happy school that provides a safe and secure learning environment for all who learn and work here. We are committed to developing the talents and expertise of each individual at Kingsmeadow and this is reflected in our pastoral care, academic support for students, and in our prestigious Investors in People status.
This is an exciting time for Kingsmeadow:
- Students enjoy first class facilities to help them learn, develop and achieve
- Our flexible ICT solutions include wireless technology and broadband in every room through a £1.5 million ICT investment
- A programme of ‘Laptops for Students’ has begun with all incoming Year 7, who will receive a Toshiba Laptop to support learning at home and school
- Students of all abilities make outstanding progress. We were one of the top performing schools in the country at KS4 in 2007
- As a Business and Enterprise specialist, we have strong links with local business and our mission is to; foster innovation and creativity, create a ‘can do’ culture and develop the vital teamwork skills which are crucial for employment and in the workforce
- We have growing Post 16 provision, through the Central Gateshead Sixth Form (cg:6) in partnership with Gateshead College
- We are a Full Service Extended School with a developing range of community activities and very close links with our partner schools
- Our modern state of the art building inspires students to be forward thinking as they prepare for their future in the 21st Century.
