Technology
In April 2007 the Technology Department moved into a suite of five new rooms in phase one of the new school building. The subject areas currently delivered are Food, Textiles, Product Design and Electronics. All rooms have the advantage of a wide range of new, modern equipment and are furnished to the highest standard.
The department currently consists of 3 full and 1 part time experienced specialist. We also employ a well experienced, full time technician to support Product Design.
At KS3 students are taught in ability sets following courses designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum. Projects undertaken are regularly updated to maintain student interest and enthusiasm.
Licence to Cook and Active Kids Get Cooking are part of the curriculum delivered in Food Technology.
At KD4 students follow AQA courses in Food; Textiles and Product Design.
We currently run a Woodwork Club as an extra curricular activity, as well supporting the Stemnet Club.
The department recently planned inspirational activities for a recent L4L day for Year 7. Current projects include a permanent display to be part of phase 3 of the new school.
