Mathematics
The department currently consists of five full time well qualified subject specialists and is supported by the equivalent of one full time Higher Level Teaching Assistant. In April 2007 the department moved into brand new facilities in phase one of our new building.
The department has a suite of 5 classrooms which have all been filled with Interactive Whiteboards and furnished to a high specification.
In years 7 and 8 students are allocated into two comparable ability bands, each band is divided into sets, year 9 are taught at the same time in ability sets. Throughout KS3 students follow the National Curriculum. At KS4 students follow either the AQA Modular mathematics Syllabus.
The Maths department work together as a supportive team using a variety of approaches to ensure that the subject is taught in a lively and interesting way.
