Kingsmeadow School are co-ordinating a European Partnership Project titled "Traditional Food/Healthy Food.
The partnership involves adult learners and staff, and our partners are from High Schools in Galicia, Spain and Kayseri in Turkey.
The 2 year project is funded through the Grundtvig Action of the European Lifelong Learning Programme.
Partner meetings will take place in Gateshead, Kayseri and Ribeira (Galicia).
The theme of the project is around the preservation and promotion of traditional food and cooking, and its' health benefits in a world where fast convenience food is on the increase. Research of eating habits in the respective countries will be carried out, and project related local activities will be organised. One of the project outcomes will be the production of a recipe calendar with four traditional recipes from each of the partners.
The project will embrace strong working relationships and friendships. Good practice in the field of adult education will be shared, and the practice of new languages encouraged.
